Celebrate Valentine’s Day with the ultimate in Royal Gorge sight-seeing paired with a special ride and dine train experience. This year, we’re running daily throughout the weekend of love, offering Vista Dome, Deluxe and Coach classes. Choose our special Surf & Turf offering by adding it on when booking, or choose your favorites from our casual 403 Grill Menu.

Royal Gorge Route Railroad runs daily throughout the year, and our Valentine’s Trains run Friday, Feb. 14 at 12:30 and 3:30 pm, Saturday, Feb. 15 at 9 am, 12:30, 3:30 and 6:30 pm, and Sunday, February 16 at 9 am, 12:30 and 3:30 pm.

During your journey, professional waitstaff will take care of you as we navigate through Colorado’s grandest canyon. Our made-from-scratch Surf & Turf experience features New York steak, grilled shrimp, mashed potato and seasonal veggies. Pair it with your favorite cocktails, mocktails, microbrews – or one of our select sparkling, white or red wines (see the Conductor’s Reserve Wine List!)

Anytime you’d like, we invite you to step outside with your special someone, drink in hand, to the open-air observation car to take in the stunning beauty of Colorado’s Royal Gorge.

  • Book Vista Dome
    Vista Dome offers unparalleled views of the Royal Gorge from glass-topped dome cars. Indulge in made-to-order entrees for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, from our fresh grill menu along with fully stocked bars featuring a wide selection of specialty drinks, beers, and wines from various regions worldwide. Enjoy your drinks at your table or on an open-air car, where you can soak in the breathtaking scenery, and a closer connection to nature. Children 2 and under ride free when seated on a parent lap.
  • Book Deluxe
    Deluxe Class offers elegant seating and an adjoining table for absolute comfort, with expansive windows providing breathtaking views of Colorado’s Royal Gorge. These beautifully restored railcars are ideal for Indulging in made-to-order entrees for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, from our fresh grill menu along with fully stocked bars featuring a wide selection of specialty drinks, beers, and wines from various regions worldwide. Enjoy your drinks at your table or on an open-air car, where you can soak in the breathtaking scenery, and a closer connection to nature. Children 2 and under ride free when seated on a parent lap.
  • Book Coach
    Coach class features comfortable seating (no tables), with large windows to take in the spectacular views of the Royal Gorge. Indulge in made-to-order entrees for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, from our fresh grill menu along with fully stocked bars featuring a wide selection of specialty drinks, beers, and wines from various regions worldwide. Surf & Turf Entree

  • Available for pre-purchase while booking your tickets online or with a reservation’s agent. Price for Surf & Turf entree is in addition to your ticket to ride.
  • $60/per person, includes New York Steak, grilled shrimp, mashed potatoes, and seasonal vegetables
  • Seating is limited due to popularity. Thus, in keeping with railroad tradition, parties of two might be combined to sit together at a table of four. When seated with another couple, you and your guest will be seated on the same side of the table. Parties of four will always be seated at the same table.

Please note that we seat in parties of 4. In the tradition of railroad fine dining, parties of 2 will most likely be seated across from another couple. Most of our guests enjoy meeting fellow rail fans. When seated with another couple, you and your guest will be seated on the same side. Larger groups will be seated in adjacent rows.

Wheelchair Accessibility: The train only can accommodate a limited number of wheelchair patrons per each train departure. The Vista Dome is not accessible to wheelchairs. Guests must be able to climb 14 steps themselves in order to sit in the Dome Cars. Please call a representative at 719.276.4000 to book your tickets for the entire party with a wheelchair or movement impaired passenger.

Only licensed, certified service pets are allowed on the train.

The Royal Gorge Route follows restaurant health codes. Only licensed, certified service animals are allowed on the train. Any other animals, including emotional support animals, are not allowed on the train.
