One Day
We’re looking forward to sharing our spectacular views and serving you aboard the Royal Gorge Route Railroad tomorrow!
Please arrive one hour prior to your scheduled departure time to ensure you’re able to park, pick up your tickets and board the train on time. Trains depart promptly at the scheduled departure time and we cannot hold trains for late guests. If you arrive less than 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time, you will forfeit your tickets and your seats will be resold. Thank you for understanding and planning accordingly.
Dining
First Class Lunch and Dinner trains offer a very special four-course dining experience including a glass of champagne, mixed greens, warm French rolls, your choice of entree and dessert. You are invited to pair your favorites from our fully stocked bar throughout your journey.
Our 403 Grill is a more casual affair, offering a full menu of scratch-made sandwiches, salads and burgers, as well as vegetarian and gluten-free dishes. A full bar featuring specialty cocktails, outstanding wines and microbrews is open throughout each journey. With the exception of water bottles or food and beverages purchased at the Santa Fe Depot or Happy Endings Caboose Cafe, no food or drink may be brought aboard the train.
Safety
For everyone’s safety, guests must adhere to the following at all times while aboard the Royal Gorge Route Railroad:
- Shoes must be worn at all times
- No purses or tote bags larger than 10.75”W x 7.5”H x 4”D
- No backpacks larger than 8.75”W x 10.2” H x 5.9”D (The size of a backpack purse)
- No weapons or ammunition of any kind (includes pepper spray, firearms and knives of any size)
- No outside food and beverage with the exception of one bottle of water per person. Items purchased from the Caboose or Depot are permitted.
- No camera tripods
- No strollers or car seats
- Vista Dome is not accessible to wheelchairs
Our staff will be present on each railcar to support your safety and comfort throughout your journey.
Animals
Animals are not allowed on the train. We are a licensed restaurant and only certified, licensed service dogs will be allowed to board the train. Emotional support animals of any type are not allowed on the train.
Attire
Guests joining us aboard our First Class Lunch or Dinner Train aboard Vista Dome or our Elegant Dining Car are invited to wear business casual attire. For guests riding on any other class of service, we suggest casual to business casual attire. For safety reasons, in all classes of service, please select comfortable shoes that remain on your feet throughout the trip.

- Visit the Santa Fe Depot ticketing office to check in.

- Take your seats and relax. Your server will greet you with our beverage menu offering locally roasted coffee, soft drinks and morning cocktails.
9:00 AM
- Train departs for the Royal Gorge.
- Enjoy breakfast and morning cocktails. Step outside to the open air observation car anytime.
- Full service dining available throughout your journey.
11:00 AM
- Train returns to the Santa Fe Depot.
